Compressing Sets of Simulation Results

SDMZIP has been developed to further improve the compression factors already achieved by FEMZIP.

It is a tool for the lossy compression of sets of simulation results with multiple versions suitable for various data formats.

With SDMZIP related simulations are aggregated into a set in order to apply dimensionality reduction methods.

The displayed model has been developed by the National Crash Analysis Center (NCAC) of the George Washington University under a contract with the FHWA and NHTSA of the US DOT. The crash simulation was done by Fraunhofer Institut SCAI, Sankt Augustin Germany, and is their respective property.

A patent application for the core of this technology has already been submitted to the German Patent Office (DPMA Number 10 2014 103 768.5). The associated research was co-funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi, Support code 03SU03D011).
